Core Aeration - Why Aeration Is So Beneficial To Lawns

www.spring-green.com Harold Enger talks about the benefits of core aeration for your home lawn. Core aeration is probably the most beneficial thing you can do for your lawn other than fertilization. A core aerator will pull up plugs of soil and place them back on the grass. It helps compacted soil and to reduce thatch. The aeration process opens up the soil to allow more air, water and nutrients to reach the root level of the grass plants. After an aeration, it's a great time to overseed your lawn if necessary. The aeration holes allow the seed to fall into the holes and germinate.
